Church Committee
This is the governing body of the church between congregational meetings. Advises the Minister on general direction of the church activities. Reviews the annual budget and makes recommendations to the congregation. Coordinates the activities of the church and appoints special committees as necessary. Responds to unique matters of concern that do not fall within the scope of existing committees. Plans congregational meetings. Consists of the chairs of committees, the officers of the church, and the ministerial staff.
Term of office - one year, beginning in February

Christian Education
Responsible for developing philosophy and policy concerning Christian education within the church and for planning and implementing educational opportunities for all ages in a manner compatible with that philosophy.
Term of office - three years, beginning in June

Diaconate
Leads the spiritual affairs of the church in cooperation with the Minister. These responsibilities include worship, pastoral duties, caring for the membership, support of the church as a teaching parish, and outreach to encourage lay participation in each of these responsibilities.

Fellowship
Plans fellowship events for the congregation.
Term of office - two years, beginning in June

Finance
Prepares annual budget for the church, supervises financial affairs and manages church funds. Keeps Church Committee informed of financial condition of the church.
Term of office - three years, beginning in February
Chair – Charlie Wittenberg
Library
Oversees the church library and promotes its use. Coordinates the purchase of books with church programs. Runs bi-monthly “Reading the Spirit” book discussion group.

Membership
Responsible for maintaining, nurturing and enhancing membership. Develops ways to attract, identify and welcome new people to the church.

Memorial Gifts
Acknowledges memorial gift contributions and advises Church Committee on receipt and expenditure of memorial funds.

Mission
Guides the church’s mission program and decides how to allocate these funds.
Term of office - three years, beginning in June

Music and Other Arts
Develops and implements programs in music and the other arts.

Nominating
Prepares nominations for all officers and elected committees of the church. Maintains and revises, as necessary, a Manual of Position Descriptions.

Pastor Parish Relations
Liaison between the ministerial staff and the congregation.
Term of office - three years, beginning in February
Chair - Thad Jackson
Personnel
Fills vacancies in several staff positions. Evaluates all staff positions with respect to total needs of the church and reviews salaries and benefits.

Property
Responsible for the care and custody of the physical property of the church, including the manse.
Term of office - three years, beginning in February
Chair – Hank Haff
Social Concerns
Guides the church’s Christian response to current issues of justice and social concern. Works with the Mission Committee on hands-on mission projects such as CropWalk and food offerings and sponsors educational forums.
Term of office – three years, beginning in June

Stewardship
Conducts the Stewardship campaign, and monitors progress of pledge receipts.
