Caring Connection

In this community of faith, the relationships we enjoy with one another are measured by the love we share. Jesus commanded His disciples to "love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends, if you do what I command you". (John 15:12b-14)

At the heart of Christian living is the caring we offer to one another. Many people at Tri-Con are involved through the Caring Connection in providing friendship, concern, and support that is encouraging and strengthening. Few of us go through life without knowing the ache of a broken heart, the pain of a hurting body, or the burden of a troubled or anxious spirit.

By nature we reach out to each other for support, understanding, encouragement and hope, recognizing the power of God to work through people to bring healing, wholeness, and hope to life.

Caring

Caring Connection
Our Caring Connection provides practical assistance and spiritual support to the congregation. Volunteers supplement clergy pastoral care by visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and shut-ins, by providing rides to church and by preparing meals for those in need. From support to solace, help is there when crisis strikes.

As a community of faith we recognize that each of us has special talents, as well as special needs, and that we are empowered to minister to one another. Caring through helping is truly a mutual act. An individual who receives support one day may be just the person to provide support for someone else later on. As a Christian community we celebrate that those who give, also receive, and that those who receive, also give, in the wondrous ways of love.

The Caring Connection is divided into the specific areas, each with a coordinator. Any member of our church family may bring a need to the Caring Connection by contacting one of the ministers, John Lombard, Karin Case or Margaret Crockett or one of the coordinators, Kathy Flynn and Stephanie Upton.
